I joined a pool league a few weeks ago and have played a total of three matches. I've lost every one of them, but damnit that's fun. I'm getting a bit better with the coaching of Tosh the super pool guy that is on Beth's team and also from Beth and anyone else who wants to throw advice at me. It's grand. Oh, I'm also the captain of my team. Clearly, being a captain requires a lot of experience and knowledge...
Also new, the kitten who you might recall from the picture above. When we got him, he was pretty young and was having slight issues with weaning. He wasn't really lapping very well so we used a bottle for about 4 or 5 days and he was happy with that. Then he started eating the nipples, so we decided it was time to move to lapping the milk from a bowl, which he can do quite well now. Morgy/Ding/Owl was none to pleased when he first came home with us, but now they seem to be getting along well. Several times we've heard a squealing cat and assumed it was the kitten being beat on by the bigger cat, but we usually see the big cat running away and the tiny little kitten chasing after her. It's pretty funny. We haven't heard any hissing or growling for about 3 days. It only took them about 4 days to warm up to each other. Now they play nicely (most of the time) and are keeping each other company. Goal achieved.
I ordered a brand spanking new computer yesterday. It wasn't terribly expensive in terms of new computers, but for me, it was a lot of money. Adam said he has been wanting to get me a new computer since we got married, so I feel slightly less guilty about it. We're doing well, so I think we'll have it paid off pretty quickly. Still just scary to think of spending over $1000 on anything ever. Makes me want to throw up still.
This weekend we are going to hang out with the McWaters family, as Adams brother Nathan will probably be heading out for his second tour in Iraq sometime this month. No date is in stone that I'm aware of, but this military family tends to know when things rolling around are probably just rumor or when things are probably truth. It's an interesting glimpse of a life I've never lived. I truly appreciate being able to understand the lifestyle a little more.
Next weekend my cousin Robert and his Fiance, Allene, will be married in Midland. We'll be making the drive with the parents and possibly Andra and Zach and Sadee, so that will be fun. I'm also hoping to visit with my very best friend ever. Misti <3. I miss her so much. I think being old makes you miss people more.
Well there isn't a whole lot more to tell. I still love work more than anything that has ever resulted in me receiving a paycheck. I still tell them I won't leave until they kick me out. I haven't been kicked out yet. I'm happy. :)
