I don't really want to or have time to go into the details of the story, but basically, we have a mystery phone line installed in our apartment that we are not having to pay for and can apparently never get rid of. No one knows what company the phone line is from, so we can't get it turned off. After almost a month, we passed on DSL and now have cable. Done and done.
Our new apartment is pretty cute. We are both liking it a lot so far. It's not complete quite yet, because mom has to come back and help us figure where decorative stuff should go. I'm betting she'll be taking a lot back with her. Dad will be thrilled.
On the job front, just prior to our move, our company had a round of lay offs. I survived, as did a handful of the close friends I made. Of course a lot of the people we had gotten used to spending time with were let go. It was a pretty bizarre experience. But in the end, I now work the day shift, mostly. It's 10AM - 7PM, which is a lot damn closer to the day shift than it was before. I'm thankful for that. I'm thankful I still have a job. I still love the job and don't ever want to leave. I am, however, thinking of picking up a part-time job to help us with monies. It's not that we're short on cash for bills and stuff, it's that we're short on anything else. We are pretty much always broke and have no opportunity to save right now. It's very worrisome. Once we get a regular flow of bills and this MUCH lower rent, it'll be easier, but not by a lot. Life's tough!
I'm going up to Dallas next week for Quakecon. That should be fun and I'm actually going to be DOING something this year for iTG. I tried to be the handy, dandy food runner person last year, but didn't do so great of a job. This year is a smaller crew, so I'm hoping to be of more assistance.
Big Brother, oh brother. I signed up for the live feeds the other night. I'm on a two week trial. It doesn't seem like the same game. It's not, really. They've all done this before, so there's not as much sneaking around whispering. Everyone knows how it goes. Of course, I am rooting for Janelle, Kaysar, Howie and James. I'm very happy with their start for the season, but I'm afraid if they stop losing, it's all over. I'm pretty sure they're going to go for Janelle first.
HMMMMM, not a whole lot else to talk about. Misti has some news that I'm sure she'll post one of these days. Last post in April? Come on Mist! That mouse is fixed now! Let's hear it.
