Holy crap!!

I've been so incredibly worky lately. The job has been very busy due to an upcoming big event. They started out asking us to work overtime. Then they encouraged us to work over time. Then they suggested maybe we work 12 hour shifts. Now they're high encouraging us to work 12 hour shifts. Now, I gotta say, I love this job enough to work all this overtime and still not be at all annoyed with or sick of what I'm doing. That's extremely good news. My body, on the other hand, is tired. I ache and my joints are stiff and my back is crackity. It's all a good thing though because I'm making some really, really good cash. I think counting my half lunches that I chose to take, I'll end the week with about 21 hours of overtime. That's 61 hours of work! Normally I'd see that number and go "Yikes" but I don't feel very "Yikes" at all. I like being up there. I like the people I work with. And even though it's customer service, I actually kind of like the job itself. Weird. OH yeah. The code. Sealab. That should cover it...

Other than work updates, I've um... well.. slept a lot? I squeeze in Tivo'd show or two everyday in the hour that I have to "wake up." But I'm not as enthralled with Survivor or Gilmore Girls as I was with Big Brother, so I don't feel the need to comment on them. Don't get me wrong, I love me some Gilmore Girls, and I think the episode that's on my Tivo is actually the one where Lorelai and Luke finally hook up, so I'm really pretty excited about it. Okay I guess I could comment on it.... my mistake.

Andrew's wedding is coming up soon if I remember right. A month or so I think. I'm sure he's getting excited. Early grats to you Andrew. :)

Well then, it's already after 6 and I still have another shift to sleep for!

I'm out.

So I'm a little perterbed. I signed up for a newsletter for a local golf course. I receive occasional sale prices on green fees and stuff. I don't mind that. It's why I signed up for it. I signed up for this newsletter with an email address of mine that doesn't receive a lot of spam. I really only had that problem with my girl@ address, but I deleted that one awhile ago. The rest of my emails are relatively spam free. So, it ticks me the hell off that I'm now receiving emails from "Golf18Austin.com" which has Blackhawk listed. (That's the course I signed up for.) So this means they're either selling their email database or they're trading it for advertising or something similar that involves me receiving emails that I didn't sign up for. I went to the site to find a remove me link, but there's not one. So I sent an email to the golf course. I'm sure they're going to think "What a nutbar. She actually emailed us about this." Well yeah, I sure did. It's their fault. And I don't happen to have any spam blockers or filters because I don't think there should be a need for me to have one. If I keep my email address private and gripe at people who send me forwards, I shouldn't be receiving spam. I thought a dinky little golf course wouldn't be a big deal. Afterall, I've been receiving their offers for almost a year now with no problem. Grr. I'm ranting for no real reason. Although I'm a little interested in whether or not I'll get a response.

I had to stay up to watch the Gilmore Girls that were Tivo'd. Why did I do that? Stupid!

I just have to say that my first hand at spider solitaire was quite possibly the worst hand ever seen in spider solitaire history. Seriously. I played it like 3 times and it was horrible, hands down. That is all.

So here I am. Almost 5:00AM and I'm just getting home. It's actually not quite that bad because my schedule has officially switched to night owl. I now usually go to bed around 5:00AM and wake up around 1:00PM. I still really love the new job at the Sealab. All my Seamen coworkers are radical. Notice I didn't use the shortened version, Rad, because that's how cool they are. I'm almost half way through my "Temp" phase, too which is really cool. Last week my cubicle neighbor took me upstairs to see the break room for the big important underwater creators. It was nifty. They actually have a vending machine with sandwhiches and Red Bull. Those things are pretty expensive, nothing like our quarter machines downstairs. That's right. One quarter to buy cokes, chips and snacks to your delight. Granted the chips tend to get soggy, what with being under water and all. It's still cheap.

I'm starting to miss my familial communication. I'm going to have to start emailing folks, since my hours are wonky and I don't tend to call people when I've just woken up. I miss my husband a bit, though we've still been able to spend some time together. It'll get better when things aren't so busy at work and I'm not working 2 hours of overtime everyday. I think it'll also get better when my schedule switches in a few weeks. I'll still be on nights, but I'll be Sunday - Thursday, so I'll have Friday and Saturday off. Then I might get to actually go see our families. It hasn't quite been a monhth, but I feel like I haven't seen anyone in a really long time.

Anywho, I better go play my game of spider solitaire before I try to pass out. Love to you people in the deep blue sea.

I really hate to sound cliche, but I just watched the first 15 minutes of "From Justin to Kelly" and, really, I want my time back. :(

It's OFFICIAL! The Game is finally being sold! Head and over and snag your copy if you are so inclined!

(this must be said in a Mal-of-Serenity-Fame voice.) People 'round these parts are a might relieved with the news. We'd just assume the grace of silence on the past couple a' weeks. Thanks all for pushin' yer prayers on our behalf. We're right indebted to yeh.

I was reading a thread about the woman who got kicked off of a plane for wearing an offensive T-shirt. Someone posted this quote and I thought it was really good.

"The Constitution only restricts the government," said Geoffrey R. Stone, a law professor at the University of Chicago and the author of "Perilous Times: Free Speech in War Times."

He added, "One of the most basic facts of the Constitution that the general public doesn't understand is that the Constitution governs the government, so only the government can violate the Constitution."

This makes sense. Southwest is a corporate entity, therefore their planes are their own private property. People can't claim that their Constitutional Rights have been violated because those rights don't exist on a corporate plane. I somewhat understood that in the back of my brain. The issue wasn't with her political statement, as that would've caused a much larger uproar, but rather the curse word. Makes sense. Now, I wonder if that offensively named college has ever gotten a passenger kicked off of a plane.

Not many funny stories from work yet. Mostly I just love it. Everyone is extremely cool. I'm sure there are quirks there somewhere, but I'm really impressed with the environment. It just feels right when I'm there. Neato.

Adam and his guys are pretty much done with the game. They were going to open the doors on Friday, but there was something wrong with the banks software and the bank closed before they could get in touch with anyone or something like all that. SO, I think the doors officially open on Monday. Please say prayers, cross your fingers, buy the game if you want or light some incense. This is a very stressful time for us. Can you say make or break? Oh scary.

I've been sick for the past week or so. I started out claiming it was just allergies, but after blowing my nose every 3 minutes for 4 days solid, I think I believe it was an actual sickness. While you read this blog, categorized as "gross" by all, please keep in mind that throughout this sickness, I've used all the Benadryl and have moved on to the BenaHyst, which is the store brand version, thereby making it about a thousand times stronger which means I'm a thousand times drowsier than ever. I also blame BenaHyst for the run-on you just read.

Today, I haven't had to blow the nose quiet as much, though the few times I did were horrendous. I never understand where all of the snot comes from. I'm sure there are websites that tell me in the easy words, but I haven't felt the need to find one. Tonight, just moments ago, I went to blow my nose for the last time before bed. I blew. It sounded like a fog horn for at least 45 seconds straight. After that tremendous effort, there was still some up there. I screamed at Adam "WHY IS THERE SO MUCH?? WHY??" He screamed something back that was inaudible because I was still blowing. I screamed "IT'S JUST A LIQUID!!!!!!" He screamed back, "NO!!!!!!! It's THICKWID!!"

So after typing that out, it's not as funny as it was when it happened, but I guess to mark this moment in time, snot will forever be Thickwid. It will be appended to our own married language that we will speak to each other and our future children only. I'm going to have to start keeping a journal for our replacement words for real. Sometimes I forget that our words aren't the real words and confuse people.

Annnnnyway. T.V. stuff I need to get out. The Amazing Race Family Addition seems kind of lame. They haven't left the U.S. yet and I haven't read anything about it, so I don't know if they ever will. That kind of makes it "The Extended Cheap Ass Family Vacation Race." I might even take it off my Tivo list. I MIGHT! Gilmore Girls - LORELAI AND RORY - if you two don't make up by the next episode I might just very well go down there and beat the ever living piss out of you. I'm about sick of this childish behavior. The Venture Brothers - we fell in love with this show last year. We watched all the episodes. We looked it up on the internet and the internet said there were no new episodes until 2006. Still everytime I hear the opening credits, I say "Oh, I hope it's a new one!" It never is, but we always watch it. Brainiac - Funny, funny shit. Watch that on G4.

Holy crap I'm trying so hard not to fall asleep. And for what? I really do not know, but I'll tell you something, I'm not trying anymore.
