I honestly don't know what to say. I've typed out a full page or two of writing about 3 or 4 times. I just don't know what to express.. Lydia Grotti, the doctor I've mentioned a few times, was convicted today of Negligent Homicide. I just can't say anything about it until I've had time to calm down and think properly. It's injustice. It's outrageous. It's going to change how doctors everywhere practice in an E.R. I honestly just can't believe it.

It's time for some fun! Sort of. Misti and Danny are here and town and will be here in a few hours to see my pad. Then we'll go have some lunchy lunch. Then mom and andra will be here later this afternoon to pick me up. I'm going to hang out with them for the rest of this week. Then this weekend Adam will come get me. We're going to go to Dallas to hang. Andra has her first preggo doctors appointment. She said if I want, I can go put on headphones and hear the heartbeat if it's time for that yet. Awwwww. :) Speaking of Dallas, I need to call Wendy Lea Angel Pooh Huckabee Kidd up and see if she's around. I'll go do that now. Bye then.

Tivo is wonderful. We're going to hang out with the 'rents in Glen Rose this weekend and I just scheduled it to record some movies and tv that I'll be missing while we're gone. I haven't really been that much of a tv freak in a long, long time. I mean, it has been there and I watch it, but not like now. Now I have specific shows that I try to watch each week. A lot of them. It's handy to have Tivo so that 1.) I don't have to remember when they're on. And 2.) when I'm out of town, I can still watch them later. Thanks Tivo, for helping me waste time.
So yeah, we're going to hang out with my parents. And my sister Andra. We're probably going to go with she and my mom to look for a new house for them. She's moving back to Texas soon. I can't wait.
In Glen Rose, my parents have their lot of like... 6 acres, I think. The neighbors on one side have the same size lot and the neighbors on the other side have 2 lots, so theirs is like 12ish. The ones with the big lot also happen to have a handy little dune buggy thing, so the last time Adam and I were there, we got to barrel around the land on it. It was fun... mostly. All I can say is, it sucks to be a woman when you're bouncing about wild frontier. When I had a free hand to keep myself protected, it was nice. They also have a swimming pool and a zip line like in all the coolest spy movies. Anyway, their place is great fun and I'm sure my parents will be too when it's finished. Oh what fun.
Now it's time for me to go shower, since the boy will be home anytime. We've got some visiting and some cleaning up to do. Hurray.

A few late night notes. First, today I also setup a blog for my Momma. I'm excited!!
Second, our first comic is officially going up, as I type. Check it out! If you still can't see it, it should be up sometime tomorrow. BUT, thatcomic.bemoedee.com definitely works. The real domain should be up soon.
I'm super proud of Adam for the work he put into it. Even though it's later than he had originally planned, I think the time was worth it. He's going to work on a few different styles before he decides on one that goes well with how he wants to present the comic. The first few may be extended like this one. Either way. HURRAY!!! We says. Hurray indeed.

P.S. We have another family blogger. Welcome Ben, my cousin, to the ranks. Richard? Care to join? :)
says MarissaD at 8/18/2004 04:36:00 PM
Well then. The comic will probably be finished up tonight. We registered a domain and hopefully that will all be working by tomorrow. Some people can already see it. Thanks weird DNS propogation. The url is thatcomic.com. If it errors out, just bookmark it and try again tomorrow or the next day. That's cool news. Adam has worked kinda hard on the site. It's kinda neato. I'm excited. :)
Also good news on his jobby job. I think we'll both probably talk about that more later.
We still only have my car, so I'm still just kinda sitting at home. Hopefully by next week we'll have a new car for Adamhead and I can go get myself a jobby job. Dear lord, I need it.
You'd think with all this time I've been spending at home that I would have this apartment all decked out and pretty. Not quite. I'm finding it hard to get up off my ass to actually do things. I get at least one thing done everyday, but when there are 14 other things I could be doing, that one thing doesn't seem like such an accomplishment anymore. Meh.
Also, I've been look at this handy thing that plays encoded MP3's in your blog. It's not anything new. It's been around for awhile, but I just started tinkering with it. It doesn't work just yet because I'm not 100% clear on how it works, but I'd like to get it running soon so I can share the music I'm listening to with those who care to listen.
Olympics. I'm sad for the gymnastics girls. I was pulling for them. All the swimming is exciting me though. They're doing so well. And watching the rowing competition made me really want to get into that. Another blogger that I read occasionally, Alison got into it a little while ago and seems like she really enjoys it. I want to too!!! And now that I live near a lake, I can! Maybe I'll get into that soon. :D
That's about enough typing for me.

My uncle says that the company he works for, Clone Computer, also sells shuttle PC's. :)

I met a guy at the LAN party in Virginia that we went to and I meant to talk about that on here. We've been somewhat acquainted online for a few years. He's a really nice guy and as we were chatting I found out that he's a dealer for shuttle style PC's. For those not in the know, these PC's are just compact, light weight and very easy to move around. Adam and I are planning on getting one of these to be a media center for our living room, eventually. It'll also double as a portable PC for us to take around to LAN's and such. Mom, I'd suggest looking into one of these to keep at the house. (Preferably in the guest living room. :) Anyone else interested in this, Contact my friend, Liggyman. He'll help you out.

Okay, Misti's layout now has Davis in it, but when I turned on her comments, they aren't working right. Amanda, you made comments. Did you have to do anything special? I don't know Misti's floogle info so I didn't set that up.

Tonight Adam and I were really tired, but being a Saturday, it's the only night we can go do something fun. I demanded that we go play Bingo and I found a place close to us that had Midnight Madness. I WON!! We spent $58 on cards and I won $158!! One hundred buckaroonies!! There were a few naysayers and laughers when we said we were going to Bingo, but to them I say, HAHAHAHA I won $100!!! Bingo. Once a month. With the change we collect. Yeah baby.

"Moe, now that you're married, are you not allowed to talk to your best friend? I'd like to know how DC and the lamb party was."
First, you're right. I should call you. I mean, we're both at home watching SVU at the same time. Why not? Also, I've become addicted to Judging Amy. I love that show.
Second, it's a LAN party. Short for Local Area Network. Hows about I call you tomorrow? I can give you my number then and all.
Adam is drawing the first comic in our new marriage comic strip. It's based on a true story and should be up sometime tomorrow. I think it's funny. :)

On second thought, that's kind of rude. I'll just bombard people. INCOMING!
says MarissaD at 8/04/2004 01:39:00 PM
Oh, p.s. I have a new cell phone number. Instead of bombarding people with the new number, why don't you email me if you'd like to have an updated number. :) girl at bemoedee dot com.
says MarissaD at 8/04/2004 01:36:00 PM
I guess I should be updating more now, huh?
WELL THEN.
In the last week or so, I've learned to cook. Damn right I have! I've cooked several meals and I made some salsa. I didn't know exactly how to cook the meals or what to serve as the side dish, but I guessed and I did good. My meals have been good and I'm not the only one who thinks so! I like this.
Adjusting to married life doesnn't really seem like much of an adjustment. For the most part it feels like this is exactly what I've been waiting for my whole life. There have been moments where we both get itchy or scratchy with this life, but those are growing pains. A few little spots of each other that are still getting used to the other. All in all, it's quite nice. I think I'll have a go.
Both Adam and Evan bought Doom 3 yesterday when it came out. We all sat over at Evan's place and watched him play. That game is damn scary and, I'm sorry, I'm a wuss, but I have no desire to scare myself with a dumb game. My scare-o-meter doesn't really work like most peoples. When I get scared by a movie or a game or a bad thought, it's very difficult for me to turn that scarethought off. It stays with me for quite awhile and puts me in a weird, paranoid mood. That's pretty much why I don't watch scary movies. Unless I've read a script or plenty of spoilers to know what's going to happen. If I can control those little parts that do the adrenaline shot of fear, it's not so bad. Anywho, the game is really pretty and quite nice the first 15 minutes or so. Until Mars explodes from within and satan and his bouncy imps and zombies start trying to punch your nose in. Not such a fan of that. I don't know if I'll be spectating through the entire game.
Other items of interest...
We should be getting a new car for Adam soon. That'll be nice. As it stands, he's using mine to get to and from work everyday. I went and filled out some paperwork at a few temp agencies and I have to go in tomorrow for the testing. The typing and such. I'm hoping to get something temporary down South where he is so that we can carpool without it being terribly annoying. That's actually why I'm doing the temp thing for now instead of talking to my friend that works at P.F. Changs. Hello tip heaven. I also need to schedule to retake the state EMT-B class so I can figure out if I'm going to school for one year or for two. I should look up info on that.
Did I mention my sister is having a baby??? No? WELL SHE IS!!!!! WOOHOOOO!
