Okay, technically I've been here for a few days now, but I haven't been at the computer most of that time. Recovering from the LAN we went to and from the honeymoon and generally trying to get the apartment together. Fun times. We went to the grocery store for the first time last night and cooked our first meal. We asked Evan to join us because... well... he's kind of a part of us. :) So, it was a nice family meal. (AND IT WAS GOOD!) I made salsa in my new food processor and I have to say, it's very good. The guys like it too! Go me.
Our wedding was honestly, amazing. The church looked absolutely perfect. All thanks to the family that is the church. They came together and helped us so much. Mom did so much work and went through a lot of b.s. She's the strongest woman I know. She's my role model. Thanks mom, I love you!
The reception was really fun. My dad cracked everyone up with his partner in crime, Greg. I'm sure there are a few pictures of that somewhere. We'll get some up. Speaking of pictures, here's one of the first ones we got back. Vicki Lowe, who I lived with in Fort Davis was gracious enough to come up to the wedding and take some pictures. I have to say, from what I've seen thus far, I'm so glad she was there. She's an amazing artist of the eye. (I'm not sure if that phrase is even real, but it's how I describe her work.) She gave me one of the best presents. It's the quilt I used when I lived with her. I didn't know it at the time, but it's kind of an heirloom(sp?) I've used it everyday I've been home and I plan on keeping it until I have a daughter old enough to take care of it. I'm not sure if she reads, but if you do, Vicki, Thank you so much.
I don't know how appropriate this story is for this blog, but I'll tell it in the most delicate way possible.
At my bachlorette party, I was given a pair of white, lacey, frilly undies. I thought they'd be perfect to wear on the wedding day, so I wore them. Then at the reception, they started to umm, ride up a little. I was complaining about it and a lady whom I probably shouldn't name suggested that I just slip them off. Adam and I stepped into a little side room and I did just that. I gave them to him since I didn't exactly have anywhere to store them. He put them in his pocket and we both basically forgot about them.... until Sunday afternoon when we were about halfway back to Austin. He realized he had left his tux in the room at the hotel. Oops? Shit? I don't know the appropriate response to that. My first thought was "Oh lord, some random cleaning person is going to find my wedding night undies in Adam's pocket." I was a tad bit concerned. We called my mom and the hotel trying to figure out what we could do. My mom ended up going to get the tux. I had to tell her about the drawls. She got them out. She has them. How embarrassing.
There are so many stories that I could tell from the honeymoon. They're all so funny and so great. It's a good indicator of our future together. I'm pretty sure there will be a lot of laughs. We're actually about to start up a little web comic about our marital stumbles. We've got several strips in mind already. I think you'll be entertained if you keep your eye open for when we post the first one. Man. I feel sorry for our kids. That's all I can say.
And now, I have laundry to finish.

Yeah. I should totally be asleep. Again.
Tomorrow night (or rather, tonight) I'll be taking down the computer so that on Thursday we can load everything up when Adam gets here. I won't be back online until a week or so after I'm a married woman. So! Have a good week and a half+-.
Today was a very, very busy day. I packed up a lot of my stuff here in the bedroom. Most of my clothes, shoes, movies, books. Then we were at the church all evening painting and wiring a few of the big light fixtures. I just realized as I started packing that this is really the only chance I have to get the majority of this done. That's when I started packing with a little more effort. We've got my furniture loaded onto the trailer and all my boxes of things. Tomorrow morning I'm going to a funeral and then I'll be off to Austin to unpack all these things. I don't think I'll even need to do low carbs for a few days because I'm probably using all of the carbs I eat anyway. I'm very tired.
I'm sure some people are laughing that the sanctuary where my wedding will be isn't even finished yet and the wedding is in 2 weeks and 1 day. I think it's making things interesting. I also think it's VERY much the way of my family. We can't have any event without last minute preparations, now can we?
I took off my ring a minute ago to put lotion on and my fingers are so swollen. I've been hot all day and I even took a cold shower. Anyone that knows me knows this is rather out of the ordinary, even for summer time. I guess I'm just moving my body more than I have in a long time. Crazy that.
Andrew, yeah, I miss those days. Those were kinda fun. :)
