I know I already wrote about this, but I gave Ashlee Simpson's show a second chance. I no longer blame her for the severe lack of interesting in her show. Now I know it's the fault of the editors. They choose to put the most boring things in her show. Tonight the big dilemma was that her hair was too poofy for a video shoot. Now, granted, she said this kid in the video was like her nerdy little brother and then made out with him on camera in front of her parents, God and everyone. That, I blame on Ashlee. But if the editors really want this to be a keen show, they need to focus somewhere else. Her show is boring. I don't know. Maybe it's just because I'm older and I'm starting to lose touch with all the damn kids. Maybe the show is popular with the young'uns. Maybe I'm just old. Regardless, I gave it a second chance and it still sucks. So, I won't be watching anymore. Even though it's right after Newlyweds.

Ah, to blog.

The last few weeks have been slightly hectic. It's mostly mental, but I still feel really worn out. All the wedding plans are coming together. Invites have been mailed, cakes ordered, flowers chosen. There are a lot of other plans that are being done as well, but I've no energy to type them out. If you are coming to the wedding and are planning on staying at the hotel where the reception is, Elegante in Odessa, today is the last day to make reservations. Mom and I will be painting and staining at the church this week to get the sanctuary all finished. I'm going to be in Andrews until the wedding. T - 19 days. Wow that's close!!! Thank God.

Adam had a tiny accident last week and found out today that the car had to be totalled. That's bad news because he had just made the last payment on it last month. It's good news because that car definitely needs to be put to rest. It's just another bill to be paid now. We'll manage! I'm just glad it's only the car that was broken. No cuts or scrapes anywhere.

I guess that's my basic update. Not a whole lot to talk about besides wedding poo. The other end is just the game I'm currently playing, Lineage 2. And I doubt most of you want to hear about that. SO! That's that.

Cheerio.

Tom, I still read. I check quite frequently, actually. And God Bless Thousand Island.

I had a pretty nice day. Did a bit of teevee watching tonight. There was a show on 60 minutes or something where this chicks dad died in Vietnam when she was 3 months old. Her mom never talked about him, apparently, so she decided to get out the camera and make a little movie about her adventure in learning about her dad. She got stories from people that were with him when he died and from her mom. I watched it with my dad and it made me cry like a baby. I just sat with my dad and hugged him for a little while because I have a dad who survived something like Vietnam and there are so many people who can't say that. I love my dad and I'm not just saying it because it's almost father's day.

Then we watched the new Newlyweds. I'm sayin' it and I don't care. I love that show. Then I watched the Ashlee Simpson show, which wasn't so great. She comes off as spoiled, the same as Jessica, but her attitude for some reason isn't as charming. It feels like she's trying pretty hard to get to where her sister is. I think the difference is that Jessica worked pretty hard and had a ton of rejection before she got to where she is and it doesn't really seem like Ashlee went through any of that. She's just a giddy little girl. I'm sure she'd be funny to hang out with, but having her own teevee show, eh, doesn't really have much appeal. Ah well. I'm sure she'll still get a kabillion dollars. She's driving a brand new Lexus and living in her own little Melrose place for emo, rocker kids. Go Hollywood. Maybe I'm just jealous.

Now That 70's Show is on and it makes me laugh.

"when you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible." - Harry of When Harry Met Sally fame

Wow, that's a great line. How about instead of a date to see Harry Potter, we go to the JP in Pflugerville? :)

Not really, mom.

I wanted to go to bed, so I did. I usually leave the teevee on for background noise when I'm falling asleep. Tonight, When Harry Met Sally came on and I've never actually seen this movie all the way through. Now, it's about 2 hours later and I'm not at all tired. In fact, as I type, I'm browsing for salmon recipes because I have some salmon from Sam's frozen and waiting to be cooked.

hehe... salmon from Sam's.

Oh yeah. I'm delirious.

But this movie is good. I want to buy it.

In my gaming life right now, there's not a whole lot going on. My FPS game is getting boring. The competition honestly died a really long time ago, but I've been hanging out playing anyway and playing matches when I can. I've never played anything competitive to be the number one best out there. I just play in competition because it's usually more fun than pubbing. I also play Gunbound still, but it's getting a little boring too. One of my really good online friends, jupe, plays a little game called Lineage 2. It's an RPG and I played it with her for a little while it was in Beta. It wasn't all that bad and it was nice playing with someone I know. I've asked Adam if I can have that game soon so I can play with her. Probably in the next few weeks. That makes me happy because I need a good game to take my mind off of all this stuff. It's just getting a little too stressful. Hopefully it will work. I guess we'll see.

June 06, 2004

Well then. I guess it's been awhile.

I've been rather busy lately. When I got back from Austin last week, mom and I went to Laredo the next day to shop for light fixtures for the church. That was rather interesting. It's a border town, so a lot of signs were in Spanish and some people that worked in the mall didn't know English. Like I said, interesting.

Then this weekend we went to Copperas Cove for wedding shower #1. That went pretty well. Our parents officially met each other for the first time. They all got along really well and I think my dad likes Adam's dad, John, a little too much. He talked about him all day. I'm really glad they all like each other. That will definitely help.

Adam and I got some alone time in the midst of all the visiting and thank you card writing. It was a very, very good time. I'm 100% ready to marry that boy, but I'm 100% scared of standing up in front of all the people at the wedding. I know I'll be fine. I'll just squeeze the crap out of Adam's hand and watch the tears roll down his face. Okay, not really.

I just squished a bug on my lamp shade. That's gross.

Oh, we took some "engagement pictures". I need to resize them. I'll get to it sometime.
