I was just checking my webstats and noticed that for several months I've gotten hits from searches for charismama. If you don't know who this is, don't worry about it. I talked about her a long time ago because she was on a national teevee show for being a webcam girl who a.) lived with her parents and b.) received gifts from strangers on the internet because she took cute pictures of herself. Now, the irony isn't lost on me. I have pictures (usually) and I have a donate button. The difference was that she went to such extremes to defend herself, her rights, her freedoms and the like. Anyway, the site has long been dead and I'm sure she's still around the net lurking somewhere. Just for kicks I did a search for her name to see what I came up with. It was mostly porn sites that stuck "charismama webcam girl" into their meta tags. Whether this was done by a bot that finds frequently searched phrases or if it was added for the sheer infamy that went along with the phrase, I don't know. I just find it rather humorous.

P.S. Wendy, your subdomain has about 350 hits this month. Not too shabby. :)

Soooo, Andrew. You said you were gonna say something that you were going to be doing on the next day and you didn't yet. Is it the SBC strike? That's news to me. Maybe that's it...

And, I'm back in Austin. I got to spend some time in Dallas over the weekend with cousins and friends. That was a good time. Had a few little nostalgic moments here and there. I'm glad I have some good memories there, but I'm so happy to be moving in the direction I'm going. I also went to see some of my old coworkers at Apex 2000 over the weekend. Even more nostalgia. Even more happiness that I'm moving to Austin to start this new life.

Adam and his friends currently live in building 2 of this apartment complex. There are about 6 of them all together in 2 apartments. When we move into our apartment, we'll be in building 4. Adam is trying to get some of them to move over to building 4 with us. I think Ben might be getting his own place to share with his WOman, Mrriane. Maybe he'll go over to 4 as well. I think Evan and Jeff will probably stay in this apartment, but it would be cool if they went to a 2 bedroom and went over to building 4. They tried to take over this building, but it wasn't really successful. I think if we planned well, we could very well take over building 4. That would be keen.

Other news:

There is none.

Wowee it's after 3:00 am and I'm still awake. CHIPS just came on, so obviously, I can't go back to bed for at least 30 minutes. Ponch is hot, ya know.

I'm heading to Dallas this weekend to visit with cousins and friends and babies. That's going to be pretty fun. Apparently people who are always out of town working are actually going to be in town this weekend. How Handy!!!

I spent all day with Misti and Davis. Babies grow super fast, in case you were wondering. Everytime I see him he gets cuter. I think he feels the same way about me. He smiles around me a lot now. Misti and I are still having issues dealing with the fact that 1.) we're old enough to have kids and it be okay and 2.) she HAS a kid. We figure another decade or two of us thinking "HOW ARE WE OLD?!" and we'll finally settle into it and start trying out that whole "wisdom" thing. Yeah right....

I'm going to watch some more of this show. Those guys look hot in the tights they had to wear. Rawr! Ono, Ponch is high.....

Well scratch that. Apparently you can turn the comments on and off, but for the entire blog. Not per post. Oh well.

Hey kids, Blogger is all new! That's going to take some time to get used to. But, I read we can now impliment comments on a post by post basis. That's good because sometimes I want to have comments and sometimes not. That's neat. I'ma mess around with it for a little bit now.

Now that I've had to use Adam's computer a few times, there's something that's not really that new or revolutionary, but I've never used it and I'd like to share it with you.

It's called Opera. I've heard about it a lot over the years, but I was never one to stray from Internet Explorer. It's always there. In my site statistics that's what almost everyone uses. Why would I want to change? Now, I do want to change. I used IE the first time I was here and somehow I inundated his computer with spyware and popups. I mean they wouldn't stop coming. Forever. I have no idea how I did it. They just appeared over and over for a few days. After he got it cleaned up, he told me to start using HIS browser. He told me about these things called "Gestures" that were so superb and wonderful. I thought, "It will probably just make everything slower."

I thought wrong.

I had heard about multipage browsing. Where you can have several windows open through tabs in the program as opposed to a separate instance for each window. So if you're doing some research or maybe looking for good prices on a plane ticket, the several windows you have open will each be a separate instance and will have a spot on your task bar. Then when you have a lot of programs and windows open, your task bar looks like a jigsaw puzzle. Well, I thought, "Tabbed browser windows won't be all THAT great. It's not so hard to just find the browser I want in the taskbar."

I thought wrong, again.

These are two aspects of this browser that have changed my mind completely. The "gestures" are basically a way to tell the browser to go back or to make a new window, simply using your mouse. But not by clicking up on File, New Window. And not by pressing ctrl-N, though that still works. With Opera Gestures, you can just click the right mouse button and move the mouse down a little. *Poof* New window appears. It doesn't sound like anything so spiffy, I know. But when you use the gestures and get used to them, they become something so great. Same with the tabbed windows. All these new things are just great.

There are some weird downfalls. Like, some pages don't appear right on the screen in Opera. But it's all perfectly readable and workable. Like my page. Some of these little lines around my content were done with table properties. Some of the lines are actually images. In Opera, the ones that are images look like white lines that are a few pixels wide. The tables look like tables, instead of flat lines. I'm sure that's my fault for writing the table properties wrong and I'm sure I could fix it, but I probably won't.

There's also a built in popup blocker. Which, for the most part, is great. For a very small part, it's not so great. Like sites that legitimately use popups. All you have to do is hold down CTRL while the page is loading and it allows the popups.

So, Opera = yay.

Try it out.

Misti... actually, I told everyone I was 5'1, when I'm actually just 5 foot and 3/4 or so. I'm over 5'. :)

Andra Christine Fleming Cryer.... if you join the Air Force I'm going to be so PISSED. I just had a dream that you did and that you were going to miss my wedding. I stomped around and yelled at everyone and said I was NOT going to my wedding if you weren't there. I was SO MAD. Then mom woke me up.

Don't join the Air Force, Kay?
