Well, well. Misti and I will be heading to Austin tonight. Another bachelorette party for me. Everyone's getting married. Weddings past, present and future during this year: Misti, Ashley, Jennifer, Crissy, Rebecca. All my age or one year from me. Me soon.

I have to go make recordings now. Bye.

If you don't know this already, most people who are computer illiterate refer to any action that requires clicking as "downloading". This is highly annoying, but you can't correct them because it just confuses them more. For instance, a customer will call and not be able to connect. In describing that they are a subscriber and they use our dial-up service, they will say "Hi I downloaded the internet through you and it's not working now." Or when they're trying to send email, if they can't get connected to the mail server, "I can read all my email but when I try to send, it won't download."

Who created this monster? Can we get some mass clarification for the word download please?

Ryan just left after being with me for the better part of 25 days. My God this hurts. I am half empty. I suddenly feel like I haven't eaten for 4 months. I can't breathe. Everytime I start to calm down I turn around or go in the other room, but he's gone. I just want to cry. He asked if I wanted to go with him. Yes. Of freaking course I want to go with you.

I can't take this right now. I'm completely alone. I'm going to stay with Misti. This hurts so frickin bad.

So anywho, I thoroughly enjoyed my weekend. First, it was with Ryan and I love him more than I love anything ever, so that was awesome. Second, I got to go on a roadtrip with him, I got to see 2 of his shows (which is only awesome because I get to watch him play, which is seriously one of the most amazing things I've ever seen and I'm not saying that because it's him, I'm saying it because he truly is an amazing drummer), I got to meet some of his family, we got stuck in a traffic jam for an hour and a half. Okay so that last part really, really sucked, but at least now I can say "HA!" to Tom because my traffic jam story is probably a lot better than his.

His family is awesome. Elis, Tracy, John and his grandparents. Elis is his uncle, but it's kind of weird because he's only 27 and Tracy is 23, so they aren't like uncle and aunt type relatives. They're more like cousin type relatives. But his family is like that. There are about 7 thousand of them including grandparents, uncles, aunts and cousins. 5 down. 6,995 to go. Yay!!

That traffic jam really, really sucked. They routed traffic off the freeway 1 exit before the accident. I'd say it was backed up about a mile at most. I'll say maybe 2 miles because I suck at judging that type of thing, but it wasn't very far none the less. After about 30 minutes, the ambulance passed us on the way TO THE ACCIDENT!!! Not leaving, he was arriving. Okay so that's not a good sign. Needless to say, we went through a few stages. Delirium, bitterness and exhaustion. It's a darn good thing we had Air Conditioning in that 105 degree weather. Oh wait, we didn't. MMmmmhm. We debated over whose fault it was that we didn't bring my car which had a/c. I was torn before we left because I wanted my car, but I wanted his car because his is better. Don't know why. It just is. We both have Explorers, mine is a 94, his is a 92. Okay you would think, "Duh, yours is better goof!!" But no. I like his. Anyway, in the end I decided we would be fine in his with windows down because we would be blaring down the highway going 80 anyway. Riiight. Ryan on the other hand, had no opinion on the matter, which apparently negates him of any responsibility for which vehicle we brought, making it entirely my own fault that we were in his car with no a/c. LOL Yes. We went over the semantics of that, and I still feel he is just as responsible as I am for not demanding that we take my car. We laughed a lot during that conversation. Oh and if you were curious, by the time we got to see the accident, there wasn't really anything to see. We saw an Explorer that had been charred and about 20 cops/ambulance/fire truck vehicles around, but that's it.

Did I mention how amazing he is when he plays? You know how in music videos how you always want to look at the drummer and watch the faces he makes, the fluid movements, the sometimes flailing limbs that seem to create a beautiful mesh of chaos and rythym? Well, that's Ryan when he plays. If I could get a snip of video and somehow show it on here, I would. I can't stress how amazing he is.

I'll bring this post to an abrupt halt now. I'm at work and I haven't really done any work yet despite being here for over an hour already. I think that's about it. Other than wtf happened to Ninjai?!? No really. That pissed me straight off. Grr.

There's a little community that I've been around for a few months now. I didn't say much to any of the inhabitants for a long time. Then one of them started a message board, so I hopped right on the train and posted away with them. I really liked feeling a part of those girls because their awesome people. I only wish I had been around them when it all started. I feel like the little sister. When my big sister has all her friends over and it makes me sad that I'll never really be a part of them. And when I knock on the door, she kind of scoffs and laughs and the door closes again. I'm sure it's mostly my own natural insecurities though. They're annoying sometimes.

So Quakecon was cool. We got to play Return to Castle Wolfenstein networked with about 10-12 machines. Might I say it was amazing and I will definitely be purchasing this title as soon as it comes out. Even if I can't play it on my POS system.

More importantly, I had a blast with all my cousins. I love my family. Also, I miss Dallas more than I ever have. I really need to be in the city again.

The trip on the way home was ... fun ... mostly. It was fun because it was with Ryan. It was not so fun because Ryan's vehicle is having issues with the a/c. It was all of 109 out yesterday and we were driving down Interstate 20 soaked in sweat, but I loved it. He rocks me. We're going to Arkansas on Thursday, but I think we're supposed to have a/c by then. I really, really hope so.

Here's a funny one. My cube mate got this call. The customer hasn't paid his bill for 2 months so he got disconnected. He called yesterday to make a credit card payment. We do not process credit card payments ourselves, we have to send it to our accounting department to do it, which can take a day or two sometimes. Cube mate explains that to the customer who then asks why it was disconnected. He says, "The last payment we received was 2 months ago. That's why it was disconnected." Then the customer asks, "Is this going to happen often?" LOL - well no, not if you pay your bill it won't happen often. Silly people.

Okay so we're kind of moronic. We waited until today, the day he leaves, to check the flight itinerary. Not only that, but we waited until almost lunch today to check it. Originally I thought his flight left at 3:40. I was right. But that was his flight leaving Tulsa to come here. His flight out of here back to Tulsa leaves at, oh, right about now. So he gets on AIM and lets me know. Had to reschedule his flight to 4:10 this afternoon. Who waits until the day of the flight to double check the itinerary? Us.

Yeah, so he's leaving. BUT! the good thing is, I'll see him again Sunday. I'm leaving tomorrow to go to QuakeCon. I'll be hanging out with all my awesome cousins. Ben, Wendy, Tom, Robert and Richard. It has been so long since we were all together just to all be together. Anywho, Ryan is going to come through Dallas on Sunday and pick me up and we're coming back here. Then we'll be here until the 16th, when we're driving to Arkansas for a few concerts, then back here on the 18th. Then he leaves for a new tour on the 26th. Seems so far away, but I think it's going to go faster than I want. :(

Yeah. He missed his flight this morning.

Well talk about anticlimatic. We took the duck to Mrs. Erskine, she felt his leg and wing and said she didn't feel a break and then put him back in the box like we were supposed to take him again. I know I didn't express that I couldn't keep the animal, I kind of assumed she was used to this type of thing and would take him just because. I asked nicely what she suggested we do with him because I live in an apartment and I can't keep him there. I asked if I should take him to the shelter but she said they would just kill him. We couldn't take him back to the park because while his leg may not have been broken, he clearly could not walk on it. At all. He would die. Anyway, she reluctantly said she would take him and find him a home. I feel bad for sort of pawning him off on her, but it was literally that or let him die. So now she has him. She'll find him a home. Bye little ducky. It was nice to see how Ryan is in a semi-not-really-fatherly type situation. It was cute.

But I wonder ... was it really a boy or a girl? Hmmm..

Our Duck...

So we went to our park tonight, nothing out of the ordinary for the first 30-45 minutes. We ate our donuts and stared at some people and waved at our usual crowd of ducks in the pond. When we walked down the way a little, our 3 Mafia Duck friends came over to see us. We talked about them and pointed and then I decided to strap on my blades to go around the park once.

We got about halfway around the park and we saw this little baby duck following a family in front of us. And he was hauling to keep up with them too. Finally they got too far ahead of him and lost his interest, so we were next. It was a very cool moment. It just hung out with us for a few minutes, let us pet him and even pick him up. I had an extra donut in the car, so we were going to try to get him to follow us back around to where I was parked so we could feed it. Shutup... ducks like donuts too.

We were almost to the car when a gang of kids got out of their car and grabbed his attention. Ryan wanted to stay with him, but we decided to let them have fun with him for awhile and we would give him the donut when they passed by us again, so we went on. Ryan said he felt sorry for the duck because it was cool that he was so trusting, but he knew that someone would eventually jack with our baby duck and probably.

Sure enough, here they come around the corner with the baby following them, as he did with us and the family before us. The kids were feeding him, so that was cool. Then they saw Mafia Ducks and decided they would rather feed them. Um yeah. I'd suggest not feeding ducks that are half your size and know exactly what that huge plastic bag is full of. The kids scattered and screamed as the Mafia Ducks flapped their wings and ran after them. We thought it was funny, but the kids didn't. They cussed a lot. Everything calms down, baby duck is still walking with the ignorants kids, and the Mafia Ducks are chilling at the edge of the water.

For some reason, unknown to me and any other reasonably sane person on the face of the earth, the girl of the group decides to throw the baby duck to the Mafia Ducks. Apparently she didn't realize there was a rock just a tad larger than the baby duck sitting right beside the Mafia Ducks. This girl either had really awful aim or really good aim because the baby landed right on the big rock. Either way, she's a moron. We stayed and watched him for a little bit to see if he would get up and go somewhere, but he didn't. He just sat there on the edge of the water. The Mafia Ducks poked at him some and then scooted towards the jerk moron kids that had food. I went down and tried to scoot him to see if he would walk, but he couldn't. He limped around and made me want to cry.

We decided to take him to find a vet, but living in a small town, we don't have any nifty 24 hour Vet places and the ones that advertise 24 hour service only allow you to page the Vet in an emergency. Well that plus I don't really have any money to pay for a Vet and my sister and her newspaper friends said you have to pay for that kind of thing even if it's not your pet. Soooo they suggested this keen bird lady in town. I called her up, told her about the duck and she said to feed it oats and warm water and to bring it to her after 12:30 tomorrow. So I will. I'm hoping he'll be okay. He's just a baby. And I'm also hoping that girl breaks her leg because I believe in Karma even if I don't know if I'm spelling it right. Grrr bad person.
